Tile stool

2017 Winter @The ReBuilding CenterOpen in New Window, Portland

Scrap woods, scrap tile, scrap plywood board, Simpson Strong-Tie

In the ReBuilding Center, there were loads of 30cm square tile boards mainly used as flooring.
I thought this simple color and texture is a good match with the natural surface of wood. I personally like this balance between cute boards on the top and blunt legs. The reason I used the Simpson Strong-tie as the stool legs was to make this completely from the materials found in the RBC.

Because tiles and wood I found were generally of useful size, I came up with the idea to make a pot mat and gave it to my host parents together with a handmade spatula.

Step

1. Cut the woods

2. Glue the parts together

3. Cramp them and let it dry

4. Screw the Simpson Strong-Tie into the top board

Idea for a pot mat design

I gave the pot mat to my host parents for their birthday.

Farewell cake from my host family was put on it!!!
